Derek,
If you were there in '72, our paths must have crossed at some time. I joined the L.A.D in Barford Camp, Barnard Castle in late '71, and moved across with the Regiment to Delinghofen in the main party. There were a few characters in the place, R.E.M.E. as well as R.A. I left in Dec. '73, posted to 8 Bde in Londonderry for 18 months. Paul. ![]() |

Paul,
Small world isn't it. I was with 2 Field from 1965 to 1976 apart from the 2 year attachment. When you were with the Rgt, I was Bty Survey Sgt in Rockets. When you moved to 8 Bde I was just down the road in Ballymoney until April 74. Derek ![]() |

There is a decent book on the period of Canadian military history from 1951 to 1993 by Dr. Sean Maloney, "War Without Battles" 1997 - McGraw Hill Ryerson ISBN 0-07-552892-4.
Forts mentioned include: Forts Anne, Beausejour, Chambly, Henry, Macleod, Prince of Wales, Qu-'appelle, St. Louis, Victoria, and York. Many other camps and bases are listed, along with geographic placenames throughout Germany.
