Hello Mike.

The full name of this beast is "Power Supply, Metallic CPP-2", made by Standard Radio Products in Canada.

The CPP-2 formed part of the Training Station setups for the C-42 Sets when they came into service with the Canadian Army in the 1960's. The power input to the supply is standard 120V AC, and you can select an output of either 12V DC at 22 amps, or 24V DC at 11 amps.

If you have ever tried lifting a completed C-42 Set, the CPP-2 is about half the size by volume but half as much again by weight. The beauty of it is it can be used to drive quite a number of vintage military radio sets, including the Wireless Set No. 19.

Hope this helps.

David
