Default Western - McBride BC

Not really a CMP, but the box looks like it may have come from a CMP

It is and it looks like a M135 chassis as well. In all my travels around B.C. i only went through McBride once 24 years ago. Not the time of year to go up there for a visit either.

The seller claims it's an Internatinal Harvester,
http://bc.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-...AdIdZ556421794
clearly its a bitsa (bitsa this, bitsa that). The rear axle shafts don't look quite right for M135 but there's not enough detail in the shadows for me to be sure.

Well the box looks very C or F 60 even has the curved pipe headboard just behind the cab....

Power train/frame looks very 2 1/2 ton......

Cab is mid 50s Binder......

Overall a nice .......

So is Harry and his gang going to salvage the box...

Didn't we see this same truck about 4 years back? If I recall it was at an airport.

Found it: http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...3&postcount=59 It was sold on ebay last time.

The truck was driven to its new home last night, Dec 27. The trip took it from Stonewall Manitoba to its new home near Carman Manitoba. The outside temperature was -28C. Travel was after dark. The new owner sent the following description of his trip...

Quote:
"CMP made the 64 miles trip home around 10:30 last night, then we decided to carry on 11 miles to the diesel shop at Carman. There were a few early stops to check her over. Stopped at Elie to add about 6 gallons of gas for the first 40 miles, brought front tires to 60 psi and added 3 liters of oil. It blows some out dipstick, maybe it burns some, will investigate in warmer better lit conditions. She was running around 185 degrees. With the engine cowl off temperature was decent in the cab albeit fumes were present and side wind would infiltrate door frames. The alternator kicked in after it warmed up and was able to see very well with the big plow lights. I think power steering would have taken away from the experience. The emergency brake is functional. We achieved a comfortable cruising speed approaching 20 mph. Overall, it was a very nice drive in the countryside. Thanks for helping us get her road ready last night and for all your help with re-homing the CMP to us."
This might have set a new ironman record for distance/temperature travelled under its own power.

Default That is one for the MLS book of records

Hi

Only two things could have made the trip more of an adventure, howling blizzard and two feet of snow on the road, then you could have engaged the blower. Wonder what the gas mileage drops to with both engines at full song? Probably in the gallons of gas to the mile.

This the type of CMP toy when you pray for snow just so you can use it.

Looking forward to seeing photos of truck, great to see vehicles like this preserved.

Cheers Phil

This vehicle looks an awful lot like one that used to be in Morden Manitoba in the late 1970's. It was parked along the fence of a compound on the South side of the main street into Morden, at the East end of town. Across the street at the time was an old eccentric chap with several dozen old cars lined up three rows deep. These all slowly rotted away until he died and most went for scrap. The blower moved around a bit in the yard (maybe being used from time to time), but eventually disappeared.

Default For sale again

While it is not technically a CMP, it is a CDN military pattern vehicle of sorts:

Looks like it might have Ford axles and a CMP winch but definitely not a CMP frame. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-heavy-equipm...ationFlag=true
