The tropical photo of the LP2A carriers with the clipped guards is on the AWM website. It is one of a series of public domain photos (026132 - 126141) of the 39th Battalion's carriers in New Guinea in 1942.
There is also some interesting photos with an American aircraft (026244 - 026249). Apologies for not posting pics, haven't successfully done that yet. Cheers ![]() Pete

It is a "Carrier, Bren, No2 MkII" The one after which all the others were called Bren Carriers.
The Australian LP1 was derived from its predecessor the Bren MkI. There were only minor differences between the MkI and the MkII Brens.
