I believe the stuart was sold to a fellow in Quebec, who began collecting parts for it. Later it went to Marcus S and it was resold again to another collector- possibly out west. Don't know where it is today. I remember that it went to Marcus with several crates of parts and the diff assy out of a M3 stuart which is apparently a completely different beast than an M5.

Wish we got that Stuart back then………., I had the turret!
Indeed the M3 is a totally different beast |

Just for fun, here are before and now pics of the three Elliott's Fox. The before pics seem to be soon after they were stripped for parts. Note the spray painted numbers 1, 2 and 3 that correspond to those on the Crown Assets delivery slip.

Stuart Tank
It appears that the Elliot Stuart tank is the same one that's now owned by Rod Ceccato, Leslieville, Alberta.

Steve Guthrie took these pictures in 1980. I’m just sharing them here with his blessings.

Picture info
In the top picture the vehicle on the left is a cut down, heavily altered GPA Ford Jeep that was sold to a customer in Europe who sadly regretted his purchase having not examined the vehicle
before purchasing it. When he got it he wanted to return it, of course, I mean it was at most a parts GPA, and was refused. I often wondered what happened to it. The nice truck beside it was owned by Peter Marshal and restored locally. The restoration group sold it to buy a totally cut down Sexton lately entered into storage in Oshawa. Until recently this truck, now sadly in poor condition has been for sale at a dealer's near Acton. It has a long and active history and still could be put on the road. Peter Simundson |

Stuart Tank info
The Stuart Tanks at Elliotts came from the creek behind Levy's. During Hurricane Hazel the back earth berm on the west side of Levy's collapsed taking four or five tanks down the hill. Afterwards they sent workers down the hill to strip any saleable parts.
In 1976 Don Smith decided his future was in those hulls and turrets and talked the local Engineers group into helping him pull them out. Not easy, but they did it and three hulls and turrets were taken to Don's Downsview Shop. Three years later he sold one hull and turret for scrap. But the guy took the wrong one, He got the one with all the hatches, engine covers and road wheels. The other two sat on the base. The Base Commander threatened legal action if he didn't get rid of them. After him asking me to get rid of them I caller Elliotts and told them to come and get the two left. They were given away for future consideration, which wa later refused. One hull went east the other north to a Jeep Dealer. End of story. My apologies to the Moderator for taking so long to reply on this. Peter Simundson |

Here's another "I wonder what became of it" observation. Jordan posted a Steve Guthrie photo of a Ford 15cwt. It is the same F-15A I photographed at the first OMVA rally in Paisley, Ontario in 1976. Here's my photo at Paisley (alongside the 15cwt Wireless Chev I bought soon after and now in the Oshawa collection) and Steve's photo with the same truck at Elliott's in 1980. My fuzzy recollection was it belonged to Peter Marshal. I wonder where it is now?

Check my posting today. I broke the secret of where it is.
It doesn't look like this anymore though. Peter S |

I can only surmise the condition is bad and the price is too high to explain why it is still there. You don't have pic, or a location so someone might drop by and have a look-see? For old times sake? |

In post #71, what is the vehicle interior picture of? It’s the second picture.

One day we may get together your WIRE-3, Bergeron's WIRE-5 and my WIRE-1 HUW. But it will never be with a Command Low Power 60cwt truck to complete the set. |

Thanks. I was trying to figure it out.
That would be a great line up. We’d also need the 8cwt and Gords 60cwt. Same for a line up of Otter, Fox, Lynx and C15ta.
