While I'm sure you are looking to find a NOS part intended for the M8, recently I was checking out sources of strange parts for military vehicle restoration and I was going through the parts department shelves of a friendly marine repair shop nearby. One of the items that caught my eye was the number of different fuel gauge sender units. I'll have to find my notes as to ohms range of what I was seeing but the point was while most automotive sources go by application the marine units were stocked by ohm range of the unit. There were a number of adjustable units to take into account different fuel tank shapes.
