hi!
i got this 1955 M43 this fall and i've noticed this half erased yellow triangle in the lower left corner of the driver's side back door,i want to restore the thing and was wondering what's the meaning of it.if somebody have the same marking i'd like to see what it is when complete. thanks! Hello I am not sure but I think it's a tactical sign. I have a yellow rectangle with H05 on my M152 it's on the 2 doors under the serial number, and at the back of the truck on the lower left corner of the door.
But I dont no what it means !!!

There was a period where only a few vehicles were kept at armouries and the bulk were pooled at specific bases as pool vehicles for militia units to draw on for weekend and summer training. The markings I'm familiar with were orange circles with a big black P on them. I have heard of some getting yellow markings with the militia district number on it and yours seems to be M over 22 so it could be Militia District 22.
