Dear all,
at the moment we are working on a fascinating project, a C60X mobile workshop, for the Dutch Army Museum. The vehicle was modified in several places during it's lifetime, such as replacing the original headlight units with "standard" DAF type lightunits. As we are rebuilding it to its early 1950's state, i am in deer need of a set of 2 complete units, i.e. the metal "bowl", or housing, that acts as a nest for the sealed-beam lightunits, and the metal rims. Any help greatly apreciated. (I have tried Dirk already, with no luck. ![]() Please send replies or info via email Thanks, Martin. Last edited by Hanno Spoelstra; 09-05-13 at 22:44. Martin,
I'm guessing that's the one that used to be at Maaldrift? I measured up this truck for a scale model a few years ago; a lovely truck. Good to hear it's under restoration. Early 50's state, means the (DUtch) equipment will stay in the back? Dirk wasn't able to help you. Jaap Rietveld in Belgium maybe? Alex

Hi Alex,
i guess so, about Maaldrift, there are not that many around. Yes, early post-war Dutch use. Fascinating because of it's colour ("British" bronze-green) and unique markings, based on the British/Canadian REME colours. We have recovered all vehicle-specific data, such as original Dutch vehiclenumber etc. Btw, this vehicle will get a place in the new Nationaal Milotair Museum in 2014. Good tip, Jaap. I had forgotten all about him. I will contact him asap. Cheers, Martin. |

I have a 42 13 Cab. The buckets and grouved headlight rims are standard civi types as found an any 42 to 47 N.A ford with the jail bar grill. ( I think )

I doubt that the C60X used the same outer rim as the Fords mentioned but am completely unfamiliar with Fords so can't be certain.
I do believe that at least the outer trim ring (the bit you can see) is the same on the Chev CMP as that used on civilian Chevs 42 to 46 and suspect that would also apply to some of the other headlight components. Somebody out there knows for sure. David

It appears that the Ford and Chev cab 13 headlights are different Bob.
The Ford CMP shared parts common to its civvy relatives and the Chev CMP used parts that were common to Chev civvy trucks of the era. Seems that Martin's question has been answered. David

Hi Martin,
I do believe I've got some spare buckets. Are you in a hurry ? Or can it wait a few weeks ? Cheers, Danny
