In Queensland (Australia), Insurance companies seem to be putting conditions on organisers of ANZAC Day veterans' marches throughout the state, which might have the unintended consequence of cancelling these parades all together.

G'day All, Tony tell me about it, I had a phone call from the local branch secretary last Wednesday afternoon asking was I able to provide any vehicles for the Anzac Day parade, i told him I have 4 vehicles at my disposal but depending on how many people I could get to help me as I would be at work (no rest on public holidays for Reg/nurses) anyway at this point 2 weeks out from the event I have 3 drivers, but the secreatry said the Police wanted to know how many vehicles would be in the parade ?? maybe they are worried about some type of threat that we are not privvie to who knows, anyway off to the shower as it's back to work Monday cheers Dennis

Driver's wanted - Must have clean police record.
Dinty sent me this pic of his line up of Australian Vietnam-era Series 2A Land Rovers. Gunbuggy, Ambulance, SWB GS, LWB GS. All that's missing from this shot is a 2A Workshop 109" to complete all the variations of the 2A the Aust Army had. |
