Question More Questions on Front Axles

Gents,
I have been reading about Bob Carriere's efforts with rebuilding a front axle UV joint. I have the Bendix-Weiss type Joint in my old dear and have 2 of each side so hopefully I will be able to make one of each side from the "best" pieces.
My Question is in relationship to the Kingpin bearings in C15A's they being "New Departure 928" Angular contact ball bearings, of which there seems to be very few on the planet. Has anyone converted to a cup and cone tapered roller type bearing as is seen in most "new" 4WD's. If so what is the bearing brand and number?
I haven’t had time to some reverse engineering as to the forces that the bearing of this type has to withstand and I haven’t been able to find any info on the New Departure 928 bearing despite buying quite a few New Departure books / catalogues from that era.
