Hi All

I was wondering if anyone would care to provide opinions (any ole opinion will do) about this hat badge.

The lugs have been neatly cut off and the presence of solder residue on the back leads me to believe it was mounted to something else.

It's definately brass ( not plastic ) but has had some sort of varnish coating applied to it at some point.

All references that I can find online show it to be authentic but I'm looking for additional thoughts.
