It sure is. I have seen this truck up close and know the seller. He is a maestro with his work and does things very thoroughly. Wish I had the money to buy it myself.

Nah, it's another 1945 GMH No4 painted desert colours.: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Army-trai...item27d8e9bd8f Note that it has the in-service hub spacers to fit Land Rover wheels when these trailers were still in service when the Series 2 was introduced. Interestingly, it has found a pair of Austin Champ wheels. |

One pictured is the ex Dubbo Museum Humber:
Post #136 http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...auction&page=5 Does not appear to have had much done to it in the intervening years. Unfortunatley this is one vehicle that can not be stored outside. Rich.

A number of vehicles from the collection of the Australian Army Museum of Military Engineering (SME Museum) Steele Barracks Moorebank, NSW are up for auction on Graysonline.
http://www.graysonline.com/sale/5009...pment?spr=true The M816 wrecker needs mechanical work so is currently non-operational. The Inter F5 "twin Boom" wrecker is fully operational. Both vehicles are surplus to need as they have other examples in the collection and no space to hold them with the impending move to the new Holsworthy Museum site. For Australian buyers, found this site whilst surfing the web, listed under items and trucks were a number or 1940's vehicles for sale in need of restoration. Might be of interest to you all. I have no connection to the site. I presume you will find it if you google whatsinyourpaddock

Some good finds there Tim, well worth a look. GMC looks like a good project, they don't come up too often these days:

Beleive these were designed for the AACO. Seen a few of these crated ones around over the years, including Corowa this year. Do not seem to sell well, which always surprises me for such an interesting bit of kit.
Did this design ever see service?? Rich.

Rich,
I have had one of these for about 15 years. Picked it up at Bendigo Swap meet for $50.00. The .50cal. is from a Liberator bomber and was recovered from a dam at Tocumwal many many years ago. I think that these were made to fit the Mk1. Internationals 4x4's but did not fit the Mk3's, Mk5's or F2's. There is a photo out there somewhere showing the mount on the roof of a Mk1. I thought I had it but sofar haven't found it. Maybe someone else has it available. I'll keep looking for it. Mike C will be able to tell us more as I think he told me their history many years ago. Regards Rick.

Take a look at this one it is set up to run on LPG. A fuel conversion that many of us may have to look at as gasoline is gradually reformulated to only work in fuel injection. Cheers Phil
