Default Tank torches

I have a number of these torches still in their boxes and have been told that they are for lighting up the gunsight in Sherman tanks, if anyone can tell me the precice use for them I would be very greatfull. The on/off switch acts as a rheostat so that the light can be dimmed if necessary. They take a pair of D type flashlight batterys,I shall be selling these lights because I cannot see me ever owning a tank, thanks, John.

John,
Those are for lighting up the reticles in the M4 and M6 periscopes.
Happy Holidays,

They are not for the periscopes, the M33 is to light the reticules in the M70 series telescope. How much are you asking John?
