That is a very nice looking wireless set, Tim, and it looks quite at home in the back of your Scout Car.
The only other photo I have seen of a WS9 was of a Canadian version, and there was not much to see of it. The front was covered by a pair of either very stiff canvass, or metal covers, with cutouts for the key knobs etc. Well done! David |

Thanks Mine is the Canadian WS9... installation has been based on war diary records that the Canadian WS9 (Mk1) was fitted in the White Scout Car, veterans recollections, and a nice photo of the Canadian WS52 (WS9 Mk2) in the back of a White Scout Car in a similar position, though not enough of the photo is clear to see exactly how it is installed. Looking for more photos and any spare parts. Cheers Tim |

Well Tim.
Here is the photo I was referring to, though it is not a Scout Car installation. It is the wireless setup installed in the No. 1 Armoured Train built here in Winnipeg at the CNR Transcona Shops in 1942. Sorry it is not great quality, but it does show the two panels covering the RX and PSU/TX modules I mentioned. The RX cover is stencilled 'WIRELESS SET (CANADIAN) NO. 9' 'RECEIVER' The PSU cover is stencilled 'WIRELESS SET (CANADIAN) NO. 9' 'POWER UNIT' The TX cover is stencilled 'WIRELESS SET (CANADIAN) NO. 9' 'SENDER' Looks like a headset bracket mounted to front centre of the table and a factory tag still tied to the upper left corner of the RX. Not sure what the cylinder mounted on the top right is, perhaps an antennae tuning unit of some form. Looking closely at the scanned image, there might actually be separate covers for both the PSU and TX. Cheers, and keep up the great work! David |

Doh!
Might help if I had added the photo.
