Default Driver handbook scans and photocopies

Moderator's note: split off from Wanted: Driver Handbooks
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd be happy to swap notes. I've been doing similar in hopes of finding any info relevant to the F22 or India pattern FAT/FGT. I'm after an FGT drivers handbook If you happen to stumble upon one.

I have
- first to fifth editions of the instructions on driving, maintenance and repair (aka Special Pattern Vehicles).
- Drivers handbooks for F60L, F60L with cold weather supplement, and F15A with tropical supplement
- Second ed. of instructions on maintenance and repair of Ford trucks supplied to defence departments of the British Commonwealth (the non CMP models)
- The Australian manual that Dave has shown here

Not for sale but I'd be happy to scan parts and email them if you're looking for something.

Default Scans

I'd be interested to see the cold weather and tropical supplements please Lauren.

Somewhere I have a copy of the FGT handbook which was kindly photocopied at 2x size for me by the owner who also had the complete range from which the Australian handbook was compiled. How do I know that? The pages used for the Australian one are missing from each of his Canadian ones!

That would be absolutely awesome, as that would make it a late war copy as well (spot on)!

Default From FGT-HB1

So as not to de-rail the thread I'll just post the cover and an example of how things were cut out, so it is unfortunately incomplete. The cover is not the real colour.

Default Driver handbook scans and photocopies

I've start this thread to assist those who are interested in seeing some of the pages of the rarer driver handbooks - both Ford and Chevrolet.

Please feel free to jump in and add your own images!

Here are a few from the Ford FGT-HB1.

Default And a couple more

Fairleads which I'd imagine appear in some of the other books as well.

The tyre pic is obviously unique to the FGT

Default Ford Lynx Operators Manual

Keith,

Great idea. Would you happen to have any scans of the Operators Manual for the Ford Lynx Scout Car? It is titled SC-OM1.

Thanks, Peter

Not a driver's handbook, but I always wondered if this "Army Service Training Course 1944" instruction/workshop manual for the Indian Army contains any references to the Indian Pattern FAT. I was unfortunate to miss out on the Ebay auction - still wondering who "reecetrooper" is as he could supply us with copies.

Rare original Ford Motor Company of India "Army Service Training Course 1944" being an instruction/workshop manual for the Indian Army.

Printed covers. Page size 28x23 cm. Several hundred pages of duplicated typescript notes with numerous photographs & diagrams throughout.

Includes Jeep, Air Force Crash Tender, Universal Carrier, Ambulance, V8 Armoured Carrier etc., mainly details of engine tuning and maintenance etc.

Raged edges, somewhat workshop soiled but sound copy.

I have a couple of copies of the Indian course book, both different so it looks like they were put together for individual courses.

Sadly No mention of the Indian pattern FAT (that I've found anyway), but it does go through a range of other non-CMP vehicles (such as the WOT2).

I live in hope of finding one that does mention it.

Tell a lie, there may be something here. I just picked it up again and on the list of vehicles there's

C011QF-C291Q Artillery Tractor 4x4 indicating winch fitted, and
C119QHF-C291QH Stripped C011QF chassis 4x4 no winch.

I'll scan the page in with the supplements.

Default Thanks for the Gun tractor winch scan....

...much needed for my C15a with a transplanted CGT winch and 2 speed T case.

My basic driver's manual for the C15a had no such information.

Cheers

Finding the HC1 Driver's Handbook would be like finding the missing link in human evolution.
Maybe one day we will find it and we can learn a little more about the last artillery tractor built during ww2 and that never entered combat.

I'm thinking maybe the C is just a typo when it should still be B as the HB stands for Hand Book.

Exactly. If it was a new edition with updated info the book would be FGT-HB2.
