Bren mount part?

Hi,

Was browsing through Bren parts and accessories for sale on the web, and found this, in with a list of tripod parts. Was listed as a "Bren post mount"?

Thought I found a match for the part on the front leg of a Mk.1 tripod for AA use with the Bren, but my part does not have the "foot" attached to the end of the leg. The foot doesn't look like it has been cut off either.

I am assuming you spotted this over on BRP firearms. I am not certain, but I suspect they may have purchased a bunch of items from the Irish army in the last decade, as there were a number of interesting items showing up through them that I have not seen on the market it a number of years. They had other Bren mounts as well, including a type that clamped to the side armour, but those are long gone. Just this oddball remains.

I too would be interested to know what it fits.

Yes, BRP. First time I have dealt with them.

Got the mount thrown in as a partial reimbursment for a Bren mag box with mags that I purchased from them. Good folks, just don't buy their "grade 4" Bren mag box. Ask me how I know .
