Chevrolet and Ford cab 13 doors
Hello,
I need to know if the cab 13 doors made by Ford and Chevrolet are identical...? I am missing a pair for a FGT and have a space C60L wreck with good doors Thank you for your wisdom Frankie |

The basic door shell is identical, however the 'handles' on the door toggle at the top of the door are different for each company and the finishing hardware along the inside top of the door is different. One company uses flat slotted machine screws and finishing washers, the other a domed head screw and finishing washer.
I think the Ford screws are flat and the Chev domed/curved. David |

And the pressing of the inner doorskin is different. The Chev door, all the lines run to a point, while the Ford, all the lines run to an approx 2" circle. Legend has it, Ford intended to use the door with a wind up window and the circle fits the bezel of the standard regulator handle used by Ford.

Have to agree with Keith et al on this: the Aussie Chev doors are different to the Canadian doors for both Ford and Chev, and the CDN Ford and Chev doors have subtle differences but are in essence, the same and interchangeable.
I've also seen a really odd door pressing on a CMP in Edmonton Canada - never seen anything like it before, and it was the truck's original door. I'll see if I can find the images. It had a square pressed into the inner door skin. The Australian hinges also have differences to their CDN counterparts. Keith - you would be better to explain the differences there, as it's a long time since I looked at the subtleties of CMP construction. Mike |

More on doors
I'd have to go through my pics to properly show the hinge differences...
Hanno posted a photo on the Canadian Military Pattern Facebook group of one of the Canadian door types we don't see here in Australia, I've attached the image to this post. Quote:
