Diamond T 980 981 Tank Transporter Corgi. 1/48 1/72 1/35.
This is a complete set of the Corgi Diamond T 981 tank transporter tractor units plus several models of other manufactures.
Most have the trailers and loads they were issued with but the Sunter, Allied, West side, and both the Wynn’s are single tractor units only. The Annis & co has a Rodgers trailer with a Dinky Centurion tank load instead of the Corgi trailer and loco. To try and make them more realistic the Woolwich arsenal model has the Corgi Cromwell tank as its load. The American army model has the Sherman tank from British army desert one as its load but it comes with the factory M60 tank. The British army desert has a desert Corgi Churchill tank as its load. The post war French army model has a Corgi Panther tank as a load as the French Used Panthers for several years after the war. Two of the army models have been converted by an experienced modeller and feature added details such as roof ventilator to the cab and a post 1943 open soft top cab conversion and ballast. Their loads consist of a Corgi Churchill and Centaur tank. There is also a post war model of a RCT Rolls Royce powered T made by Hart Smith. There are two of the Pickford’s sets plus two singles ones to model the famous heavy haulage picture with the five dizzies traveling through Sheffield. The extra Pickford one was bought to convert to post war British army before I bought the Hart Smith variant. The 1/35th scale plastic models are a semi-finished closed cab and an unopened open cab with built Tamiya Churchill and Academy M10 tanks as loads. The two 1/72 scale ones are Oxford die cast plus a Matchbox model repainted in Wynn’s livery carrying a Centurion. £500 plus postage. A couple have the usual missing mirrors. This collection cost me over £1300 to assemble |
