Guardianship
Good day gents. I was just browsing the Forum this morning and happened across Robert M's post regarding the sale of his HUP ZL. He suggested that he had experiences with buyers who do not have the best interests of our beloved MVs at heart.
This got me thinking (always a hazard) I am sure many, if not all of us have similar stories to tell. Just wondering how other collectors try to ensure that these vehicles do not fall into the hands of those who plan to destroy their historic value. In the past, too many retired MVs have fallen prey to backyard mechanics, mud boggers and other sort who merely look at them as old junk to be beaten, chopped, modified and scrapped. Personally, I always try to investigate a buyers intentions by asking lots of questions first. Why do they want 'X"? Any previous experience? Plans, intentions? History of military service etc? We need to remain diligent
