Rumor is that some vehicles will receive thick OAK as armor against IEDS as used by the US ship 'OLD Ironsides'. Dave

At least is should cut down on the rust problem, but there are so many other Iltis common problems that must yet be addressed.

The trouble with oak planks for armour is unless the timber is properly treated to Agriculture Canada and US Food and Drug Administration standards, it will never be allowed to cross the US border.
