Sign 4 CRGU
Dear people, a question, I have a black metal sign with the following inscription: 4 CGRU (see photo). Is this a "4th Canadian Graves Unit" sign? It was found near Apeldoorn in Holland. Can someone tell me more about this sign and what this unit belonged to and its history? Thank you very much, Wout

I made a mistake, the sign says "4 CGRU"!
Does that mean "4th Canadian Graves Registration Unit"? |

Wout,
The sign might have belonged to No. 4 Canadian Graves Registration Unit. Their War Diary can be found here: https://heritage.canadiana.ca/view/o...eel_t21287/164 Attached is their first War Diary entry explaining when the unit was formed. Colin |
