Keith,

It looks like a 20-mm gun mount. Those guns were frequently placed in the cargo box of captured vehicles. Also note they have cut away the side over the wheel arch for inmporved access; also note the wire on the side for the crew to hang their kit on.

Regards,
Hanno

PS: I have moved this posting to a related thread, rather than "In the background".

Keith, maybe even a Flak gun, considering the size of the parts visible. Maybe Italian Breda?

Love those F8s, especially the one with the Fortress nose.
I agree...would be nice to see a replica of one of these one day.

Another Ford under new management . . . but only just, they have not been able to do anything more than chalk "WL" (Wehrmacht Luftwaffe) on the door.

Default Interesting photo link from Hanno...

....unfortunately it cannot be copied to my computer....

Interesting to notice the fender top seat cushions at the back...and the glass rear window as opposed to the sliding sheet metal.....

The box seems to be wood.... but not sure since I cannot see any seperation between the boards.... or is it rivited steel....?

Bob

Default Thanks Phil....

This is a good picture of an early Cab 11 Ford..... no roof hatch.... good visual of the mud flaps.... box details.....which I am now convinced is steel 2B1...tai light..... and actual mud splatter of front line driving..... rigid mirror post..... too bad the pit helmet is hidding the mirror.

Bob

Hello All,

I was looking on You Tube at a Lancaster Bomber documentary and during a bit of background about German occupation of parts of Europe this image popped up. Accessed 16th January 2021 from, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMgZ62jyPiQ Screen shot taken at the 0:27 minute mark.

It looks like a CMP that is under new management?

Kind regards
Lionel

Default Morris again

Here is another great shot, taken somewhere in Norway

Source: http://eggan.net/album/181/

Anyone having any info on the wireless body type?
Pictures drawings of it, inside and out?
And notice the "heater ting" on the front shield. Also the search light in the middle of the windows.

David

look up this link for the full story www.old-dodge-trucks.co.uk/dodge_wk60.htm
you are right about the COE being a Dodge WK60, if you remember my son also named David owns one.

Hanno you are also correct about British contract only, 741 in total delivered in 1941 to Kew London.

Pete

Just a quick note on the Russian site, and sorry, I am way behind the curve as Pat had to go to Arizona again for what I suppose is the last trip to take care of her Dad.

Is it just my browser, or does that site load slow as bloody hell??
Just on the GMC thread alone, I could have a fag, a drink and a pee before 4-5 photos would load up.

On the other hand, the photos are worth it for sure.
Cheers
Bill

Rolf:
On that other site, I have ID'd that vehicle as an Adler 3 Gd but also mentioned the wheel /tyre equipment as being very British looking or even Afrika Korps type.
Any other opinions??

Don't get too excited; its totally a French invention and as much Wehrmacht as a Challenger 2.
