Diehl Track

Would anyone have any information on Diehl track?

Specifically, how to tell when the track is worn beyond
acceptable limits?
(The track itself, NOT the insertable rubber pads.)

Likewise, what is the technique to insert and remove
the pads?

Yes I have thanks. Diehl, despite the fact they are (allegedly)
going broke, ignore my emails to them. Big corporation syndrome?

I really need someone who can tell me what to look for. "Use
the Diehl special guage" is the most I have got so far and is
of no use.

Or, get my hands on a manual or pam.

Which model of Diehl track do you have. Here in Canada the 213G was the type we last used on our M113s, but there was an earlier 213D which was prone to breaking. I'm going by memory, so the letters could be wrong.

I think I might have info downstairs somewhere for the guage, and might even have the guage out in the garage. There were specific manuals for the track, again I'll have to check my archives. I'm pretty sure I have some of the Lynx manuals down there somewhere as well.

Well, maybe it has something to do with the fact they are allegedly going broke?!? Unless you sent an e-mail along the lines of "Herewith I place a firm order for 500 sets of M113 track. Check you bank account", that is

There is a little "u" on the side of the track, lift the metal vulced to the rubberpad and use a big hammer/chisel to knock them out sideways. They can take a lot of beating on the metal, but works far better with rubber pads. Use diehltracks on M24.
