Default snow man

looks like the abominable snowman has made it downunder .

My grade 6 teacher was a highly neurotic , frustrated old nun , she used that word about three hundred times a day . "your behaviour is abominable ".

Default Dubai

Good Day

It's 0610 here in Dubai, I arrived just a few min ago. Had a very bumpy flight from Sydney, got airsick 7 h before landing. I left Max & Kathy yesterday.

Corowa was a really international event. Was great to see some old friends and new MLUers.

I would like to thank especially Max & Kathy for their fantastic Aussie hospitality, for me and those international visitors!

I will post some more Videos and pics after arrival back home.

Greetings From Dubai
Chris

Hey Chris ... sorry to hear about the rough ride and the airsickness. I expected to be doing that on the flights and planned to keep the barfbag real close range. I hope your aim for the bag was true! I hope the rest of your flights were okay for you ...

Looking forward to what you add to this thread when you're home again.

Just got back home 2 hours ago. The 6 h flight from Dubai to Zurich was much more smoother. Watched "The Departed" and another comedy.

Guess what awaited me back home???

4 degrees and snow! It started snowing 2 days ago. That how it looks around my parents house.

Write later...

Default Welcome

Glad to hear you made it home safely, at 8.3 daylight saving time it is only 9 c with a very cold wind, the rain we expected was only 3.5mm. The snow looks very pretty. Have fun at work tomorrow.

That's an awesome looking vehicle ... fun to drive I'll bet?

That's also an amazing HUGE hunk of rock sitting behind all by it's lonesome. Did it fall from the heavens??? Amazing photo all round, Chris!

I'm hugely disappointed to not be over there taking photographs of everyone and everything so sitting here in my four walls armchair life it's quite wonderful to vicariously experience some of this via the good old internet and what all of you people are posting. I enjoy my 24/7 net connection from home while I still can for now

Hey Chris,

I enjoyed listening to a radio (?) interview of you. Nice to hear your voice ... it reminded me of my old boss Andreas with the Swiss accents

There is a story relating to that sub in Holbrook .

Our illustrious navy , the RAN, had red faces when thay had to salvage some parts from that very Sub at Holbrook .

One of their old Oberon ? class subs, still in service , needed some bits to keep it going . The sailors raided the Holbrook sub for the bits .......

I won't mention who bought a certain Swedish submarine design , without an example ever being built and sea trialled . Turns out it has nasty propeller noise and a myriad of computer glitches . It's only cost endless millions of dollars .... for a lemon that had design flaws from the beginning . It was so unreliable , the navy has had to spend squillions on the darn things .

Thanks for explaining the "red things" ... I guess the old wooden troughs are a thing of the past.

@Karmen

The young girl is from the radio station, the other lady Maureen, I think she organised Back to the Tracks in 1995. I can't remember the other blokes name.

Karmen,

To help Chris out here, it is Maureen Bell and the gentleman on the right is David Mottram. Dave is responsible for getting me interested in taking part in Back To The Track, when I met him in UK, in 1994. From then on I have been to Aus seven times in all times, including Corowa four times.
