Top that
Well, Hockey looks to be pretty important, for sure... Jif, do you play Hockey?
Canada is indeed a wonderful place as I can attest by my two visits... You get to experience new things there as an Aussie... Maple syrup (although of course we can get that here) Extreme cold Salt on roads Serious wind chill Warm people (we have those too) Frostbite CMPs tucked up in sheds CMPs in the snow Seriously rusty CMPs (admittedly we have some of all these varieties, but ours are more active) Ice rain Oh, and did I mention the cold?

Whinge, whinge, whinge. Laird 'tunderin' Jaizus! You never had it so good...
For the record, I haven't been on skates since 1971, but I have been known to watch hockey on occasion (not this year though, damned lockout!). It kinda goes with Sapper's hint about Molson products (methinks he understated the relationship a bit). Quote:

12 men hitting a pill of pre-frozen vulcanised rubber on a sheet of solidified water. Mustn't complain though, seeing as how 99.9% of England is totally besotted with 22 grown men kicking a bag of wind around a muddy field. However, it is strange that the Canadian colonials whinge interminably about 6 months of bitter winter and then re-enact it indoors for "sport".: R. |

To all you wannabee Australians
My first question is why is a bloke from Texas (Sapper740) glorifying something Canadian. Is he an ex. Pat and if so, why? CMPs - Canada may have made them but we've got them all here now, and beautifully modified by our coach builders. Smoked salmon - we're swimming in them, all from our pristine watersand the best in the world. Ours are so good we actually reject the ones John West accepts. Grizzly bears - who needs them. Molson's Berweries - Who? ever heard of Fosters and Bazza McKenzie. Dust storms - we use them to sandblast our over-abundance of CMPs. And hockey - check the site http://search.netscape.com/ns/boomfr....iha.org.au%2F And then of course WE HAVE VEGEMITE. AUSSIE BOB |

We'll hear from Sapper in due course I expect... but if he calls himself a sapper and likes Molson products, he can't be all bad. He's probably down in Texas for the women (they're 'interesting' to say the least ).
Jeez, I should put a block on MLU setting aside all .au email addresses... you guys seem to proliferate here worse than kangaroos. Sheesh. One of these days I'm gonna find my way down there and then you'll be sorry... er... if that is, I'm not sorrier sooner... And Keefy especially... if you don't stop putting up aircraft pics.... Weather...it's only mid March and already the temp. is in the mid 80's Taxes....I pay about 21% income tax Gun control.....here, gun control is about hitting your target. I have a Concealed Handgun licence so if I run into any bad actors, I can present them with a serious dilema. Texas is also a Class 3 state, so I can take my full auto Bren gun to the range any time. The never ending debate about Quebec separation: The only Quebecois here are in Florida where they are thoroughly hated and mocked constantly on the local radio. What is it about fat frenchmen and speedos anyway? Now, before I sound too down on Canada, which I'm not, I want you all to know I thoroughly miss the CBC, Don Cherry and Coach's Corner, and Hockey night in Canada broadcasts. I miss the Tragically Hip who never get airplay here. I miss playing rugby, the 2nd greatest sport ever! At this point I'd like to compliment Australia for their wonderful blend of rugby and a mosh pit at a rock concert. (whatever happened to Jacko any way?) By the way, my Aussie friends...lovely shot of that aircraft, does it matter which wing tip you hold when you toss it? Honi soit qui mal y pense! Cheemo! |

Luring me over there with treats and promises of being able to drive CMPS ... : mark my words, one day, I shall come knocking on your doors asking where the buscuits, Billy Tea, and keys for the CMPs and Spitfires are ... then what will you do?
