What a conincidence.

I have a big screw threaded item I picked up years ago with some other Army bits but could never identify.

Looking at the blurry blowup of the 3.7 inch being loaded and there it is.

'Trunnion end cap'

Now I can sleep again

Les, last time I looked there was a static 3.7" AA gun on display at CFB Borden in Ontario, Canada. Perhaps one of our members from Tranna or outlying areas could get a pic?

A bit more information on the abortive use of the 3.7 inch AA gun as an anti-tank gun.

Apparently there were 20,000 useless 2pdrs in store by 1942; mostly new and all built since Dunkirk. And all presumably melted down post-war.
