I went with the reasons Pete said for the regular plate, and I pay less than 140 for insurance...

Pete, I went with a flat Olive drab that I had access to. Not quite right, but I like the flat look more than the semi gloss, plus it doesn't show every little dent and ding as bad...
I'll advise Cruise Night startup when I hear of it.

Anticipate attending Big Canoe car show. Advise dates again.

Your CFRs look to be vinyl numbers vice stencil. Yes/No?

Hi jon, they are indeed Vinyl. So easy to put on, and if I decide to paint with camo later, very easy to remove.

Default markings

... as I hunch my shoulders and try not to sound superior ... the CFR should be on the INSIDE along the dash, not on the rocker panel. The number would be on the front and back already. No need to repeat it on the sides.

Where would the CFR# be on the front and back? For whatever reason I thought that the ECC# went on the front & rear bumpers with the CFR# on the rocker below the door opening on M38A1 CDN2's. That of course would be prior to any flat OD or 3 colour camo being applied once in the field.

Mine came with a number on the rocker panel, no numbers front or back. The nujmber on the 'dash' was actually on the lower frame of the windshield and this was a replacement and therefore misleading. A quick glance at my collection of photos shows the CFR on the rocker panels on a fair number of M38A1s.

Default Numbers everywhere??

I had seen pics of numbers on the rockers, so that's what I went with.

Pete, I am assuming they meant the CFR front and rear were on the license plates.. Correct me if I am wrong....

Jon, I will get back to with with exact details for the ChiCheemaun weekend show.

Numbers were on the rockers in the Cdn operators manual for these vehicles.

All right! Stop punching me!

I realized I made a cardinal mistake by pointing out something I thought was obvious. The collective wisdom has proven me wrong, and Clive's CFR listing on ramtank made me feel especially unequipped in this debate.

But ... for a late era M38A1 in CF service in three-colour camo', the CFR was found on the front and back license plates, and frequently stencilled on the dash above the instrument panel.

All the Cdn2 and Cdn3s in this neck of the woods had the CFR on the dash applied by white decals as opposed to stencils.

Just to add to the fun here, My 67 had the CFR marked on the dash near the grab handle with same stickers used for the CFR Plates.

I was so overcome with remorse when I posted, I meant to say that.
