Default 216 vs 261....

Here are a bunch of pics from my files......

You will noticed that you need BOTH the flange and the pulley to reinstall the larger 261 water pump pulley......

Scream if you have questions.....

You will need to press the existing pulley and flange off the pump.... press on the small bolt pattern 261 flange than bolt on the pulley......

I probably have the parts you need....but would suggest you check on the continent first as shipping can be costly.... you alternator pulley should probably be changed as well for a larger one so it will no spin so fast at high speed......... make sure the pulley width is all the same.... it can vary between 7/8 of an inch for an early 216 to 5/8 to 3/8 on later models.

I beleive that the shaft size are the same between 216 and 261.

Keep plugging at it......

Many thanks for the pictures. It is a big help. Not sure where I would find any bits in the UK but I may be able have a pulley made. Need to get my radiator recored as well so have to save up some money first.

Default Parts.....

Hi Michael

If you cannot find the pulley/flange in Europe I can send you what you need...but will need to get a shipping quote first to establish if it is worth the cost...... these are spare parts for me......

..but looking at the Ebay listings they are selling.... or at least trying to sell ....a 261 water pump and pulley asking $136.00...... which is absolutely ridiculous....... and shipping extra.

Let me know if you want the parts.

Mike..
I stand to be corrected but CMP wheel bases were 158.5",..134.5"..and 101 "
But then there is the HUP...who knows what the wheel base was on those things..maybe Mr HUP will enlighten us...

Measure the wheel base from the axle centers..then come back and give us the real length..
Check your tape measure..maybe the missus cut a chunk off the end to measure up something..
I don't recognize 119" on any wheel base I know..

Sorry for the lack of updates. Lots has happened and I've now taken redundancy but hope to make it as self-employed. Haven't had a chance to work on the truck for months but that is about to change.

I had the radiator re-cored. The old core did have a couple of blocked tubes and it was not deep enough. With its new quad-core I'll probably have to blank some of it off most of the time. Still need to sort the pulley out.

Measured the wheelbase today and it is 120". In the pictures you can see the joints. It looks like a section has been welded in to lengthen it. The plates in the cab say it is a C15A.

Default Correction

Wheelbases were 101", 115" (F60T), 134", 158", 160" with the F15A, F30/60S and F60L a quarter of an inch longer.

I have managed to get myself a job in Germany which means we will be moving in the not too distant future. Sadly I will not be able to take the CMP with me so I have to offer it up for sale. Look out for it in the the for sale section.
