Thanks Richard.
Hoping to get the carrier finished by around June time!

Me and a couple of mates have just bought another T-16. Should be delivered next week. This one is running and driving but still needs a lot of work. It has a Diesel engine in it at the moment.

Yes. Arriving next week, I think it will be pretty rough inside. All the internals have been removed including the bulkhead!

Will be twisted most likely but at least you have your hull to use for datums etc etc

Yes please Rik!
Won't be at Malven. I live in Sheffield so not far from you.
Let me know when it's done and I will pop over.

Slow progress at the moment. Can't do the welding on the hull as it is burried under a snow drift.

Managed to get a correct T-16 gearbox. Just needed a repair to the top cover.

Some pictures attached.

You're amazingly fast with your restoration. We're still plodding along with a couple of hours each month. How many of your storage bins are original? They look crisp and clean, so I am guessing you had some made? We'd be interested in getting the dimensions for the storage compartments and most of the other soft metal bits that tend to rust away.

Hi,
Finally got the rear axle aligned and mounted correctly.

Eric Let me know what measurements you need. Only one of the boxes is new, the rest are original!

Chris,

Are you getting any help with your restoration? It takes two people to get that rear end mounted, and even with both of us it was a pain in the ass. We're working on the brakes now. At least that was the last piece of hardware we were working on. Rust does terrible things to mechanical parts, and it seems like just about everything requires a lot of time to bring back to working condition.

We only have a few bins. Our T-16s were Swiss conversions, and were used for logging in Northern Michigan. Anything related to military use was stripped out and are probably little rust piles now. All of our knowledge about the bins are based on pictures we've seen in other restorations, so we're not really sure what to ask for. I know we have what I believe is the smoke grenade storage bin that is in front of the gunner. It has a rusted bottom, but looks to be restorable.

My restoration partner and I will be having lunch on Wednesday, so I'll talk with him and get back with you. I think we have a local guy that can make our parts.

Eric

Eric I have help from a friend with the carrier. I also have a very good fabricater!
If anybody needs any of the boxes let me know.

I also have the track adjusters. I have antenna mounts for the A and B sets for carriers and other armoured vehicles.

that looks really nice chris, I wish I could have kept mine, it would have been nice to go to the ywe together in a couple of newly restored t16's but the Cromwell resto has left me strapped for cash (it can happen when you mess around with tanks) so it had to go but I've a feeling i'll come across another some day.
