Darrell, that number is the WD or 'census' number, similar to the CZ or CL numbers on trucks and lorries. My Carrier is a Mk.1* with a similar number CT113649, and is a Mk.1*, Serial No.14606 built March, 1943 as part of contract CD213. Look in the same place along the armour and you'll find the 5-digit serial number and maybe even a C Broad Arrow.
Also, I have drawings to re-make the folding aerial bracket I could send. As to FV623: hmmm-M, you M-ay have a point. I M-ight reconsider as I'm rather partial to my Widget, Universal, Hand, Type "F" (Canadian) No.2 Mk.2/3***. |

Bruce
I would be interested in those folding antenna drawings as we can task the Regt'l Mat Tech with making one (once certain non-public conditions are met) and our welders are very talented. I shall PM you my address and if you send me yours I'll get a pre-paid envelope out to you ASAP. I shall search further (beneath a lot of paint) to find further #'s I can post. Thanks for the tip. ![]() regards Darrell ![]() |

Hi Darrell:
If you sand carefully the paint remaining in the stampings on that top edge will help highlite the numbers. You should be able to get the date of manufacture as well. When you refinish the carrier you will want to pick the old paint out of the stampings so that they are still ledgible. Could you also post the hull number I showed you on the left rear corner. I have seen a chart somewhere on the internet of serial numbers, CT numbers, hull numbers and mfr dates. It is useful to all of us to add to these registers as it helps members with partial data (usually because the data plates are gone and the driver's armour plate is cut away) to figure out thier missing info. I have collected the data from all of ours and the Cameron's (CHofO) carrier and will post them shortly. Bruce/Geoff: Have you seen this register? Can you refresh my failing memory? Cheers, Mike (Mk II)- Dad's a Mike as well! ![]()

Hi all
Big "THANK YOU" to Gord Falk for the very nice (and big) copies of the stowage diagrams. Awesome stuff and bound to be nothing but helpful. Check your Private Message account, Gord. ![]() No time to do the sanding for more #s yet. Sunday was a wash-out spent stomping around the Winchester Bog. I'm gonna need a helicopter!! ![]() Off to play near Meaford area with the Sqn for a week or so. Watch out for the large eight-wheel Armd Winebagos if you're in that neck of the woods! ![]() regards A |
