Hi Darrell:
I learned what sweat was when we did track maintenance on the M109's... I never envied you tankers the tracks on a Cent or a Leo! ![]() Got the book, thanks! I'll drop off the barrack box when I go up for CAC on 20 Aug. Good luck in Moncton and keep in touch on this net. Cheers, Mike

Something that still happens. I was once stuck in a traffic jam on the outskirts of Zurich because a Swiss APC had shed its track right in the middle of a major crossroads (yes the military do sometimes drive into the city centre). This was about a month after the Autumn (fall) intake of teenagers for their 'national service'. A number of whatever the Swiss for grunts is were looking highly amused whilst an NCO was looking highly p****d off. This was about 1979.
Two puzzles about the photograph - the shop window looks lit up - not something one would expect to see on the South Coast before late 1945 and the sign Ices yes, Rock yes (but more likely in the North) but Rocks! Having spent some time in Brighton the shape of the street does not look familiar (but mich mayy have changed. |
