Thanks for those pics, Les, roll-on the rest!

Do us a favour, though, would you? Take your digital and get some nice clear shots of Nigel's book so I can put it up in the appropriate thread(s)... thank you, I would greatly appreciate that! You can send me uncompressed pics and I'll do the rest and give you the photo credit.

Default Beltring, Friday July 20

Here is a photo taken at the LwD stall. From left to right:
Lance Skinner, Roger Ladyman, James Gosling, Brian Gough,
Dirk Leegwater, Al Nickolson, Barry Churcher, Stefan Leegwater.
It is a rare occasion that three Fox owners (Lance, James and Dirk)
are together at one time.

Mvg. Dirk

It was my first "Beltring" and I can only say that it was super!. It was hard to find the time to talk to everyone, walk through the stalls, see the vehicles, enjoy the arena-shows, talk through some scale-modeling projects, helping with the book-introduction and taking part in a living history group. There was just so much to see!

Anyway, it was great, with the only downside being the rain and following mud (oh, and an empty battery in the camera )

@ Dirk and Stefan. I was hoping to come over for a chat after our initial "hello", but found the clocking ticking faster that I hoped.

@ Nigel. Thanks you so much!

Attached some pictures I took while the camera-battery was in working order...

Each time I visit these events and talk to the people there , it becomes harder and harder NOT to buy an actual vehicle and just keep on concentrating on scale models

Had to smile at Martins photo of the mud i have been there when the top dries out, its like walking on a mattress. I note Alex had a good time on his first visit and posted some photos its amazing what you find at the show and what you miss. Think i have done all 25 now plus the previous shows at Tenterden. As promised here are some more of the photos i took on the Thursday

Nice restoration of a CMP with big boots and a fifth wheel on the chassis, dont know but was this a ex logger

Have a ton of photos on other forums (seems I have to post them one by one on here which would take forever!)

Did anyone spot a Jeep marked up with a white polar bear on a black background and a green square with a white 62 on it? That should be the markings for a vehicle of the Leicestershire Regiment, 49th Division, a mate of mine saw it twice but I couldn't find it anywhere!

Default Tractor

I didn't find this truck until the last day when it was being loaded. The owner says its an original tractor but the fifth wheel is not correct. He is looking for an original. He got the truck painted just in time for Beltring. His name is Roger Graystone and he is from Ipswich.

Barry,

Thanks for some background info on the tractor. Just like you I found the truck on the last day. Just in time!

A very interesting project!

Default Not roadworthy!

Auuuuuuahhhhh

I think the fitting of the fifth wheel coupling is not roadworthy.

Drilling holes in the top side of a U-section member (beam) is strictly prohibited.

That guy has no idea, how to fit a fifth wheel coupling on a truck.
