I have always said that this is too small a hobby to screw people and get away with it. A good name can disappear fast, and we are too tight knit a group not to share with others when we get dicked.

Rob-Thanks for your concern-I doubt very much if I will ever see my money returned, but on sheer principle, I intend to keep his name in the spotlight so others do not have the same misfortune as I have. If the moderator asks that I should stop these monthly reminders, I shall do so. However, I have received emails from others on the site with similar experiences and I am sure I am not the only one who has had bad dealings with this individual. The difference is, I have no desire or need to be discreet about discussing it openly on this forum so others may benefit. I cannot be sighted for slander or false accusations, as I have only presented the facts-which speak for themselves.

John
I have been watching this thread with interest and offer this advice. I own a business that offers a service to the real estate industry. We mainly deal with amounts under $1000 per customer. From the beginning I was aware that some customers will either, not pay or be a 'difficult payer' when finalising their invoice. Two choices for you. Let it go and move on ![]() ![]() ![]() We here in Australia have a legal avenue called - Small Claims Tribunal. For around $60.00 you can serve a writ of demand upon your customer almost immediately. He/she then has to respond within a set amount of time. If no reply is received or a resolution be arranged, it goes to court. No lawyers can be involved and it is dealt with by a magistrate. Dispute is dealt with within a short period of time, a decision is made and therefore, problem solved. ![]() It sounds like you will have an extremely good case in relation to this matter. Do something now and stop procrastinating. ![]() |

Thanks Tommy-The amount of money is so little that it is not worth worrying about chasing. This is all a matter of principle. There are so many good people on this site who deal fairly and help others, that it is a shame when there are those present who do not. A certain level of trust is built on a website between the members as we all enjoy our hobby and want to help each other(and ourselves) by sharing information and our abilities to reproduce or acquire items to help us in our restorations. I frequent the g503 website for information about my jeeps, and others for different vehicles. In almost all cases, everyone on those sites is a credit to the hobby. I am sorry when someone on one of those sites acts in a dishonorable manner.
I hope this thread helps warn those new to the hobby, as I doubt it will ever result in a refund. |

Let it go, John... we have the message loud and clear. I really don't think there's anything to be gained from pursuing this - unfortunately you got screwed (as we all have been at one time or another) but at least others know now.
Cheers, Geoff

Geoff-No problem. I'll leave it alone from now on. I hope if anyone else has similar dealings with this guy or others that they can factually post their experiences too. We can then weed out people such as these from our hobby.
