latest status of our Bren May-20
In the Corona era, we stopped working on restoration. Now we are back, the engine is installed with pipes. I worked on adjusting the braking and steering rods. Attached some pictures.

After a few years of work, we are driving the Bren first test drive
Today the Bren is finally moving there is still a lot of work to do but for the first time we took the Bren out of the workshop for testing there are many more things to do and work on it but we can say that we are in the right direction there is tremendous progress.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMy1Xmi6Ac0&t=5s https://youtu.be/EMy1Xmi6Ac0 We look for the problems that pop up and fix what is possible inside the Bren we plane to take out the gearbox, Engine and radiator and after painting bring back inside all parts. And final issue is the panel wiring and lights, so a log way to go... Israel

Hello MLU members
Happy New Year 2021, I return to my question CTL36 unit that we have in poor condition. Does anyone have a JPG or PDF file in one to one size (original dimensions) of the unit that I can produce here in Israel? I am attaching files and drawing someone can tell what the radius of r1, r2, r3 which are in a radius smaller than R. I understood the cylinders of the cross shaft are adjacent to the CTL36 between A and B. Thanks for the help Again, Happy New Year 2021 Israel

The tracks are in the right direction.
This week we took a great step ahead.
We painted the inside hull and today we put back the tracks in the right direction. It was a rainy day and very cold. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsZJ...ature=youtu.be

Need Switchboard pin connection,
Thanks Lynn, I need exactly the pins that the switch connects in each and every position for example B and T and so on

If you connect a live feed to B or the equivalent terminal in the center, and then with a test lamp on each terminal as you rotate the switch, it should be quite simple to determine which terminal does what.
B = Battery T = Tail lamp S&T = Side and Tail together All = Headlamp, side and tail. Ron |

It uses an earth return system via the "bus" bar. As you will notice the battery is positive earth (which you can change if you wish) (I run 12 volt negative earth in my carrier)
I have put a remote solenoid down by the battery to avoid running battery cables to and from the start button.

That's what I have done too Lynn. 12V neg earth with a solenoid near the battery, and a 12V starter motor. An auto electrician friend made up some resistors for the 6V gauges, although I've never had a working fuel gauge for some reason......Something to look into one day. Ron

Ron, my fuel gauge is one hundred percent reliable. Early carriers had a "dipstick"
I did buy resistors for my other 3 Ford electric gauges from Macs autos, Stateside. (my carrier came out with a Ford commercial cluster like the Australian LP2)

Today the two exhaust pipes were installed at the bottom of the Bren, and the number of the Bren was painted

Good effort to you, Israel, and your friends at the tractor museum.
We do not see such complete examples of the Canadian made 3” mortar carrier that has been updated to British MK-II, with the British bronze data plate installed. Last edited by Michael R.; 03-07-21 at 02:19. |

Your A is the tool box with the kneeling pad CTL 780 A. I have never seen that other cover other than that pic in the manual. I expect they didn't last long in service life.

The B pic john Bizal reproduced some of them from my example and maybe he might still have some left.

John's copies had a small error on them where the cover would bolt to the floor to the right of the driver. It needs to be stepped to go over the small bellcrank plate if I recall. I discussed it with John and he mentioned that the area from the one he copied was a bit rusted there and it was hard to get the exact detail. It was easy to correct. |

Your four upper engine covers are similar size and shape of the MK-II* model, with subtle differences including changes to the insulation application, external mounting of flare cartridge container with updated stand off bracket, and fuel tank dipstick/oil can opener stowage bracket. There is a small change in the driver side rear cover to allow the conduit of the wireless battery cables to pass through. |

so if the directive to remove the cover was issued in 1942, did they ever bother to fit them after that? Ron |
