It's a great feeling Ben, to get that one out the way. I managed mine about 10 years ago, on private land in a digger. Mainly I think because the guy at Driver and Standards agency here in Dorset didn't seem to know much about it and was quite sympathetic to my cause. I did promise him I wouldn't take a main battle tank through the centre of Bournemouth........Of course I lied, if I ever get the chance!! Ron

The plan was to do the test on the airfield, apparently now you have to drive on a road where you are likely to encounter traffic, we did, lots!

I put the wireless battery box, axle cover and rear mudguards on, radiator went back in but I need to double check the cam is set properly before I plumb it in. The throttle has had the rods made and fitted, carb is back on, engine tie rods, fuel tank cross over back in and some front compartment details.

I hope to get the last of the engine sorted, front mudguards fitted and the wiring next week. With some luck it might make a noise and perhaps move about a little.

Not long now Ben and it will all be over....then what are you going to do...oh, the Bren
I wasn't intending to go to W&P this year but i just might have too.

Jolly good achievement on such a unique machine.

Cheers. I'm trying to do the Scout Justice, it deserves it i think.

I've added a video that Shaun sent of me driving the carrier on yesterdays post. Good day to be playing with tracked vehicles. I wish I'd taken a video at the end of the day when Shaun showed me how it should be done but i was too busy having a good time.

We should have taken Rick's Cromwell for a spin too ;-)

Default Alive again!

The plan for today was to set the brakes/steering, start the engine and check for leaks.

That all went according to plan and was trouble free so we thought we'd pull it forward out of the workshop and back it up just to check it moved. It did. We then got a little carried away, after a quick check to see that the brakes were steering correctly she span round, out the yard and down the track by the house. After we both had couple of trips up and down, turning very nicely at the ends we put her back inside for a well earned rest.

It was a very good first trip, no leaks and she drives and turns very well. The NOS tracks and sprockets will take some bedding in as there are a couple of stiff links plus we only wired it up temporarily to get it going, that needs to be done properly for next time.

Overall a very good day and I think Shaun and I both had pretty big smiles on our faces by the end of play time.

Now the engine cover and air boxes can go on and fitting all the fiddly detail bits.

Thanks for posting the videos, my channel thing on youtube was having a bit of a moment when I tried Wednesday. Glad you enjoyed the drive, thanks for the help.

The kids want to have a go next week during half term so it'll get another little run out. A few little jobs to do first.

They were good gears in that box, didn't think they needed any polishing
