Default Hurricane Noel

Since I'm stuck here at work in the middle of it, I might as well drag the rest of you in here with me.
Currently 1730 hrs AST 03NOV07: Temp 8.0C, Baro 29.91 inHg (and falling hard and fast), Gust/Avg 44kph/19.8kph, RH 97%, Rain at times heavy.
Forecast locally calling for 100-140kph winds, 50-70mm rain peaking out around 0200hrs 04NOV and tracking right thru my front yard.
The biggest concern is the number of trees that have yet to shed their leaves thus providing a large sail area for the winds.
More to follow, if I keep power.

Hi Wayne

.......and your closer than I. Moncton is getting 120kmp/h now and the rain is coming in sideways!!

Lots of trees here still have their leaves too but none near me.

I put the cars out for a wash!!

regards
Darrell

*I've been singing "The First Noel" to my wife and kids but they just look at me funny (or at least continue to).

Well down under we finally had some dam good rain, a little late for some of the crops and hay country but good for the native grasses. We managed to get 73mm over the last 3 days and the creeks are running again even if it's only for a couple of days we will take what we can get.

Gee, if that's what you call a "dam good rain", you should pop by. We've had 35mm in the last 10 hrs and not forecasted to stop until noon tomorrow!!

Default Powers Back

Clear blue skies, mild (10C) temps, 8kph breeze, Nice afternoon.
0600 this morning we had a real howler happening, with most of the Province blacked out, branches, trees, and power lines down all over the place. Power crews imported from New Brunswick, Quebec and Maine hope to have all the lights on by 2330 Tue ni.
Hopefully the temps will stay on the plus side.
All-round interesting weather night

Thumbs up

We just had 37.5mm of rain over two and a half days, the best socking rain in a long time. With the new shed added we got a nice rise in the levil of the house tank.

We had a good storm here in Temora this afternoon, just at the end of Ramp Talk which was wonderful timing.

Default a bit windy today

what cow of a day
the wind came up this morning and later in the day came the dust, some of the worst dust we've had for many years coming from the west.
