Default CMP Parts- Dimensions/Diagrams/Photos

Do you feel like posting some of your CMP diagrams and photos with dimensions?? You do keep notes, right? Phil Waterman has a brilliant website and regularly posts dimensions of commonly used CMP parts (see:http://www.canadianmilitarypattern.c...tingPage3.html for an outstanding example).

We are not all as talented as Phil, but your posted hand drawn pictures, photos with dimensions, and for that matter your written notes with dimensions would be a tremendous asset for CMP restorers.

I know that there are folks who regularly post on this forum who have the artist's touch, so share those pictures/photos etc...with the rest of us!

Personally, I am looking for the dimensions for the cab roof round hatch cover - an "exploded" diagram would be most useful for the rigger I am going to employ making the same (I'll get an estimate of the cost if you are interested in getting a look-a-like cover).

Don't be shy. Spelin do'nt kount - let's take advantage of this forum and share the "wealth" of knowledge out there!

Default Do you mean the canvas cover?

Rob- Do you mean the canvas cover that fits over the hatchway or do you mean the round hatch ring with padding and wood spacer.

If you mean the canvas I have my original cover and I think I still have the pattern from making the replacement. Let me know your needs as I'm sure other people could use a pattern as well.

Phil,

Yes, the overall cover for the round hatch. I took my hip ring pads apart and will post a photo/diagram with canvas dimensions for the three hip ring pads.

How much did the replacement cover cost?

Any help would be appreciated! Oops! Got to get back to the grind...

Cheers

That's only contingent upon their children allowing them to borrow their crayons...

Mike, no disrespect intended, but you have to have met these Ottawa blokes to understand the subtle nuances in my voice...

Rob, you might want to try contacting Brian Asbury as he may still have one or two rounds covers available.
I think I spotted at least one at a show last year on his table. Perhas still available???

Didn't cost much because I sewed it myself about a days work and I'm slow because I don't sew all the time. Biggest thing is having a machine that can go through 6 layers of water proof canvas.

I'll start looking to see what I have drawings and details.

Cheers Phil

Default POW CAN RACK - HUP

Hopefully this works! This album shows some of the measurements for the 1 Gallon POW can racks fitted to the rear of various HUPs.

Note: This is my first experience with Photobucket so here goes nothing:

Default DRAWINGS

The drawings I put on Photobucket are from a PowerPoint presentation I made up (more to follow). I can email the presentation to anyone who wants it (PM me), and if they can improve on it, correct errors or add to it, all the better.
