Default Flathead V8 coolant drain plug

Does anyone know what the correct coolant drain plug is for the Carrier engine. Mine has sheared off and needs to be replaced, but I can't find any details anywhere of what it looks like, or the size. My block looks to have a brass adapter as well, is this normal or a repair?

Cheers,

Tom

They are a standard Ford items of the period. Look on Macs website or phone Belcher Engineering, they have them on the shelf. The carrier ones are threaded on the outlet port but newer re manufactured ones I have had have removed this feature. I've got a spare wartime one if you want. New type can be seen on bottom left of the below photo.

Speak to Jim Turnbull at Royal Kustoms (Dorset), usually has these on the shelf you can either put the taps back on or blanking plugs.

Thanks for the replies gents. Sorry for the late response, I’m in the middle of a family crisis.
