Restoration of Civilian Commercial Ocean Travel
My Mum was a British War Bride who did not get to Canada until the Fall of 1947. Even then, the RMS Aquitainia she travelled to Canada on was under contract with the Canadian Government.
That got me wondering when all the ocean liners around the world were actually returned to commercial service across the Atlantic, to Australia and New Zealand, and elsewhere? Moving war brides about, getting servicemen back home and repatriating POW's must have taken a while to complete globally. David |
