Hundreds of Canadian manufactured Chorehorse Generators going in the skip yesterday after decades of out-side storage. I was planning on keeping a few but the condition was so bad not worth it.

I kept the only Canadian contract model found and may restore it. How rare is this model?

Ouch. That hurts! Neil, original War time chore horses, or also BSA post-war units? I don't think you can call them rare, but some parts seem harder to find, like mufflers and carrying frames, exhaust tubes/hoses.
Any Canadian spare parts boxes?

Still a shame to see them end up in the skip.

In the UK all Canadian Chorehorses are rare. Hundreds of the post-war BSA but very few Canadian manufactured.

The set pictured is one of the Canadian Contract models not fitted with guards and used in Radio Trucks etc. I have never seen one in the flesh.
Less than 10% were BSA models recognisable by the steel fuel tanks. Canadian models all seem to have aluminium fuel tanks.

Seems mad if so to now be sending them off for scrap.

Might have been better to take them to W&P and let them go there.

Would be nice to get one for the WSC, but I have too many other commitments right now to think about it, let alone get one... and I do have a nice BSA unit, which will have to do for the time being.

Most were ceased solid, electrical side requiring extensive work, all missing air cleaners, most gauges absent, carburetor's corroded beyond use, most frames dented and other impact damage where thrown off the truck.

I don't think you would have sold many at W&P especially as the spares are also so hard to source.

This is the Canadian Contract version featured in my picture. Presumably they are common in Canada or do you have the British pattern there as well with the frame?
