Default Pre-war MCC C8 training

I am trying to work out where this training was being undertaken...it's the York and Lancaster Regiment, and it does not appear to be in the RASC Depot in Feltham. Could it be in Catterick? Or perhaps the Regiment HQ?

Default CS8

hi David ,

They could be early Mk3's . I believe these were made as early as 1936 . The pre-war production was rather scant and few have survived to this day .

Pic shows the tools laid out on a 1986 Windscreen cover .
BTW the adverts are interesting , a Ford F8 for 100 pounds !

Default Date?

I reckon 1936-8 myself, possibly 1936-7. I wondered where the location was? The Regiment seem to have been all over the place pre-war, depending on battalion. I wondered though if it was Catterick, but who knows?

The IWM site caption says it is 1st Battalion.

According to this site

http://www.regiments.org/deploy/uk/reg-inf/065-1.htm

they were at York from 1937.

The IWM might be able to advise as the on-line captions are abridged.

Default York?

I wonder if it was Worsley Barracks in Fulford Road? At least one battalion lost their horses in 1938 so that year I suggest that they became mechanised. I too agree C.S.8T Mk III trucks. I seem to have a collection of photos of these from 1936-8 now!
