Extremely rare Lynx MK 1 serial # 23. Vehicle is a complete frame off restoration completed in 2012, all the components have been inspected bearings, seals, engine, gearbox etc. have been replaced or rebuilt. The original engine has been rebuilt however, a rebuilt 1951 Mercury V-8 Flathead was installed rather than risk excessive wear on the original engine. The original engine is part of sale and vehicle is in excellent condition. As far we know there are only 2 or 3 Mk 1's in the world and this may be the earliest running MK 1. We can help with shipping from Vancouver BC. Serious inquiries only please.

It was a water based operation so no road in or out and when the logging was finished it was abandoned along with a lot of other trucks. Then about 1985 or so a local collector found it and over two summers his kids and him stripped it, cut it into smaller pieces and brought it down the lake 15kms in a 12 foot boat with an outboard motor. Used MT oil drums to float the hull out.
Kept it together for years and then it went to its present owner who put it all back together and fabricated a lot of missing armor and parts.

Sound like a very interesting recovery story - wish we could see pics!

Default looks like a new one......

..... needs a lot of TLC....... but you need to star somewhere....... finding the proper sheet metal.... even rusted for a pattern.... is usually the stumbling block.....

cheers

No problem, I moved your posting here as I try to keep all the CMP ads together. There are various "CMPs for sale in [country]" threads so we can keep track of the CMPs available on the market.

That looks a bit like a Ford grill and overflow tank sitting in the back of the box.

That's an amazingly complete cab and a very fair price. Looking at the dust on the tires, I wonder if it drove there under its own power?

Wife says I can't have another one until I finish the one I'm working on now (she's the sensible one around here) so although tempting, I won't be buying it.

Default A little more info....

I spoke with the owner this morning and the gentlemen (Robert) is selling because he just doesn't have the time to restore it. He bought it with those intentions quite a number of years ago and has stored it in his barn since then. AS FAR AS THE MOTOR......he doesn't remember if it turned over or not. So it was towed out for photos. He is not good with computers, thus the phone number. Pleasant enough fellow to talk to.

Good luck to the potential buyer........Robert

Still has the original engine and data plate!
