Default any Mad Max fans?

Passed on the way to work this morning, trailer loaded with one black Ford XA(?) with funny grill, spoiler on the back and motor sticking through the bonnet, Gee that looks like the "Last of the Interceptors" I think to myself, next car had a trailer with the blue and yellow "MFP" chase car (forget what they called them). So are they doing a remake of Mad Max or what??
Coincidentally Steve Bisley (AKA "Goose") was on Top Gear Monday night, he played three different bike riders in the film, and talked of doing the lunch run in the Interceptor.
Both cars crossed the border into Victoria, maybe a serious border raid in progress?
One of the worst cars ever produced by Ford (the XA), sure Howard will back me up here!!
Rich

Default Mfp

Hi Richard - MFP stands for Main Force Patrol. Google will bring you up some good Mad Max sites.

Default 30th Anniversary

They are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Mad Max in Little River ( just north of Geelong ) this weekend. They are expecting 30,000 people to attend! I think that's about 20 times the population of Little River.
As some people may know most of Mad Max was filmed around Little River, Anakie and Altona.
No, Mel Gibson will not be there.

Chase car: Pursuit car.

Yes I'm a fan.

Default No Mel Gibson But

He/She'll be there, albeit with the tail between the legs. Or should I say less the tail that was bitten off by a flock of Hawks.

Default Mm

Of note in the film is the 1959 Holden-assembled Chevrolet sedan with that 'orrible paint job.

For details of Australian cars sold here featuring Ford, Chrysler and Holden cars, see my series a while back in RESTORED CARS entiled Aussie Cars in Pommeyland.

Default Monaro

Saw an early Vauxhall Monaro last Saturday. Some years ago there was a '74 Ute in Southampton, ex-UN Cyprus. I have however not see an Aussie Chrysler for years.
