Default Chevrolet C8A HUW question

I have been asked my a fellow modeller to ask a question for him.
He is making a 1/35th scale model of the Chevrolet C8A HUW and has a question regarding the tyre sizes.
The kits used are the Italeri Chevrolet 15cwt truck and the Plus Model HUW conversion set. The tyres provided are the 16" type but all references state that they should be 13" for the C8A.
His question is where the 16" size tyres ever used on the C8A HUW if yes fine ( any pictures ). If no, has anyone ever made this kit / conversion and which model company makes 13" tyres in this scale.
Thanks for any help or suggestions provided.

Cheers
Kevin

13" tyres and wheels for this conversion are rarer then getting brand new real ones. Best bet is to try and get a smaller scale (1/72 etc.) 20inch wheel set and see if it scale matches to 13in at 1/35. I know the 1/35 scale LRDG Chev wheels scale out to 1/24 scale 13in tyres and rims so I can convert a 1/24 or 1/25 scale Ford Station Wagon to the Military one.

Default wheel size

The C8A (all versions) has 16" wheels with 9:25 x 16 tires. The earlier 2WD C8 had 13" wheels

John

Does this apply to the C8AX as well?? Also some of the HUP versions seem to have smaller wheels, though photos can be a bit deceptive. There seems to be some contradictory info posted around the web

With the 8 cwts all the 2 wheel drives had 13" wheels and all 4 wheel drives had 16" wheels.

Most of the restored C8A's are fitted with 9:00 x 16 tires which have a larger diameter than the lower profile original 9:25 x 16. It would take a sharp eye to pick this out in a photo.
