Thumbing for a lift in a container ?
folks if anyone hears of a container coming back to the UK from Canada within our community, let me know. I have a radio set I want to bring back, and could pay towards the costs for haulage.
Cheers Richie Failing that I will have to pallet it back, which is far from cost prohibitive, but presents issues of the set being damaged en route

Richard, have patience and something will likely come around.
I recall waiting at least 2 years to retrieve halftrack fenders from the Netherlands to Canada. In the end they turned up.

Richard, You might contact an outfit called U-SHIP. They co-ordinate shipping & arrange partial loads. The resulting costs are favourable.
You might also have someone find a box or crate for the radio. Care must be taken to use the correct materials though. Wood must be either all plywood or chemically treated. I have seen military surplus plastic boxes large & strong enough for a 19 set.

My set is located in the Southern Ontario area, my other thought was if folk are wanting to buy stuff from that part of Canada we could maybe consolidate a load and fill a sea can between a number of us
