Default Sniper's Scope eyepiece

Looking for eyepiece to upgrade my Sniper's Scope.

Probably not that hard to restore…but a good one would be better.

Good luck with that! Expect to buy another scope.

Just for clarification, do you want the black rubber shield or the optics part?

Warren Wheatfield comes to mind as a possible source.

Hi Terry,
Just the black plastic eye piece …the optics are in very good condition.. no internal haze or glass scratches at all.

Based on your cheerful response...Looks like careful restoration might be the way to go.

Thanks,
Dennis.

Default Telescope, Observing, Sniper's C MK. I - parts scope

Sadly, my spare "parts" TOS C MK.I does not have the eye cup piece.

Would an eyepiece of a similar make of binoculars work? You might be able to get a set of binoculars somewhere.

Colin…thanks anyway.

John.. That's a good idea about the binoc's..

In the meantime…here's the piece in question. You can see by the nasty chip why I want to replace it.

Modern day epoxy's and restoration techniques could make it new again…If you know what you are doing...

Great news! Replacement New Old Stock eyepieces are available. They fit both the R.E.L. standard 6x30 field binoculars and the Telescope Observing Sniper's C Mk. I. Canada used standard American eyepieces.

They have lots of parts for optical instruments.

I ordered three sizes to be sure in September 2018. They arrived but the three types were not identified. I am pretty sure it is the B1033 but I suggest ordering B1033 and B1036 just to be sure.
B1033 for 6x30 binoculars
B1036 for 7x50 binoculars
B1119 General eyepiece 30.3 mm dia.

They are TERRIBLY expensive. ;-)

B1033 USD $1.25 each
B1026 USD $1.50 each.

Postage came to USD $6.21
