Another CES item for my Sherman... am looking for 4 of the following please:

Not to be mistaken with Ration Tin - 2 men - 1 day, or presumably also 5 men - 1 day.

Please let me know if you have any for sale.

Thanks

If you have one of the 3 men - 1 day tins in your collection and can let me know the dimensions, this would be excellent also.

Thanks

Tim

Default 3 men 1 day ration box dimensions

Tim,

Here is a photo from the 3-men 1-day ration box I have.
The markings at the top left side of the lid are

"DDM 1119/2"
"1942 FL/C"

The external dimensions of the lid are 243x197x32 mm.
Material thickness is approx. 1 mm.
The box measures 236x192x121 mm.
The height of the edge of the baseplate is 10 mm.

The 2-man 1-day ration box on the photo is post war.

Don't you need the 5-men 1-day box for your Sherman?

Marco

Marco

Thanks for the details.

Definitely 4 of the 3 men - 1 day box for the Sherman Firefly according to the CES... which had 4 crew... so I assume this provides 4 men with 3 days rations.

I have a similar post-ww2 version of the 2 men - 1 day tin, and the bottom part of a ww2 version of the tin.

Having the dimensions of the 3 men tin will allow me to ensure I don't pick up the wrong one if I find a tin which has been repainted, or has the stencilling missing.

Just need to find 4 tins now.

I have some of the 1950s 2 men tins spare.

Cheers

Tim
