Default New Toys for the Toy box

I recently attended the Eastate sale of an old friend here in New Zealand. Several of the vehicles were very rare, I picked up a 1940 GMC ACK352 4x4 (more about that in a later post) but of interest to this forum is the truck that a friend of mind purchased for $200NZD.
The truck looks a dream with, apart from the deck, not alot missing. We assumed it was a Australian vehicle due to the sun roof that appeared factory fitted, as you will see in the photo its a little larger that normal.
Now that the ID plate can be read it is a Truck 15 Cwt 4x4 Aust No 2 (Ford F15A)
I guess this maybe a little payback for all of our C8Ax's that have appeared over the other side of the Tasman.

One question we do have is what does the tray look like, does anyone have any plans / drawings for one?

Also how does the canvas fill the holes

Regards
Kev

Default The body in question

Admittedly this is a F15, but the body is the same, an all-steel body. I'll dig out some more pics for you.

This truck was rebuilt by Mike Cecil, and has since been sold.

Keith also has some pics of Tim Berry's F15A No2 GS HERE

What's that in the background in the 2nd pic, Kev?

Default Like the first shot-

I really liked the first shot - shows how correct the cramped shifting position by relocating the shift lever.

G'day All, Tony I was also curious about the "vehicle" in the background, I'm taking a guess to say it's either an Austin or the New Zealand 'Trakka', not that I'm interested in purchasing either of them just curious though cheers Dennis

The machine in the background is basically an Austin Champ
well it has a champ grill, bonnet and running gear but thats about where the original bits end

As an aside under the bonnet of the F15a is stencilled
15A /1942

and the adjusted gear lever position in the top photo allows
use of the low,low,low gears

Default Eagle eye Phil....

I must admit I had to scroll back and search for a few minutes before I noticed the shifter behind the cab.....

Phil doesn't need glasses......

...but what the heck is that shifter doing there....? spare tranny?
special winch drive?? or maybe an Australian over drive...!!

Bob

G'day All, yeah I know this will sound like of course you saw it!!!!, but I just thought it was a gearbox with the shift lever still attached to it sitting on the tray cheers Dennis
