Default Brigade HQ Vehicle Inventory

I've been delving into the history of 27th Armoured Brigade for a while and whilst I've found a wide variety of info in the regiments and things like the brigade workshop etc, I can't seem to find anything much on the HQ itself (vehicle-wise that is).

Does anyone know how many (and what type) of 'A' vehicles a Sherman equipped Armoured Brigade HQ would have used in NW Europe?

Many thanks,
John

Hi John;

Don't know if this helps or not but a HQ Armd Bde (NWE 1944) 'A' vehs:

7x Scout Car
3x Command Tank
2x AA Tank
7x Sherman
3x Bridgelayer

Cheers

Mark,

Thanks - that helps.

I've come across a contemporary list of census numbers of vehicles belonging to 27th AB - some listed as Brigade HQ and some as HQ Sqn (but definitely not regimental vehicles which are listed separately).

It's a list of major repairs carried out on A and B vehicles by the brigade workshop in June and July 1944.

I think the Brigade HQ/HQ Sqn references actually mean the same thing, but I needed to know how many vehicles I was talking about before being sure.

Cheers,
John
