Default Chev C8

Does anyone own a C8 in the UK that wouldn't mind someone having a look round to get details, measurements etc?
I'm getting a bit desperate for info so I can start work properly on my vehicle.
Any help would be appreciated.

Default c8s in the UK

Hello Colin

I have a C8, with 11 cab and short type wireless body, you are very welcome to look over, the only rub is that its in Yorkshire, but if you've reason to travel north then feel free..

I think Jeff has a picture on MLU

kind regards

nick

Default Someone else has got one!!!! A C8 that is!!!!

Well Nick I'm that desperate I might take you up on that offer!
I didn't realise it would be such hard work trying to get good info on these vehicles. I'm trying to get info on the tilt and also the aerial mount, i have drawings for the aerial mount but I'm not sure on the thickness of metal to use, & unfortunately I don't have much on the canvas frame at all.
So if its okay I might be in touch in the future so I can pop up and see your vehicle with tape measure and camera in hand.

Default data book

Hi Les

I recognise those pages from the data book... Have you ever come across an armoured vehicle version of the same book? I am aware of this one, the 'military pattern' data book and also the 'modified conventional' data book. I just assumed there must be one some where...

kind regards

nick

No problems Les, in all the excitement I didn't really notice it myself.

Hi Nick
Got the name right this time, yes i have a copy of the Canadian armourd vehicles it covers a/cars carriers etc and another i have covers as it says on the cover Tank type vehicles Rams, valentines, Sextons and so on. these are the small books with hard black covers, my truck book only covers CMP patters plus a large section on the bodies so what is this one on conventional trucks, ive yet to see this one

Nick, I have a high-quality laser copy of the tank type vehicles edition. Could we set up a trade for a copy of the CMP and/or MCP editions?

Default 8-cwt

Hi Colin,

I would like to get the measurements for the aerial mount. I sent you a PM.

I've attached a photo of Reg Hodgson's Ford 8-cwt, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada.

Regards
Al Nickolson
